FAQ

Before waxing...

“What do I need to know before waxing?”

  • 3 weeks of growth minimum.

The hair must be at least the length of an eyelash, it will NOT come out if it is too short. Longer is better than shorter, no trimming please!

    Wear loose clothing

for after the service, tight clothes can irritate your skin.

  • Take an Ibuprofen/Excedrin/Tylenol 30-45mins before your service

to reduce discomfort *if your anxious about pain*. I recommend taking one, if it’s around that time of the month for you. Avoid alcohol the night before and caffeine the day of your wax.

  • Exfoliating the area to be waxed the day before, it will improve your results.

For exfoliating, I recommend a 'Body Exfoliating Glove' or 'Vegan Sugar Scrub'. I have both available here. Every intimate waxing service comes with a complimentary glove!

"What if I’m on my period?!”

  • It’s totally cool for you to come in still! It will not interfere with the wax, or me at all. It’s no big deal. The service will move on, just as it would any other day!

"Should I tell you about any skincare products I'm using?"

  • YES! Please disclose if you are using ANY skin care products, in your personal skincare regime .. especially if we are doing a facial waxing service. You must be fully transparent with your waxer about any over-the-counter or prescribed products that you've used, within the last month and potentially up till a year.

EX: Retinoid, Retinol, Salicylic Acids, Chemical Peels, Antibiotics, Anti-Acne or Anti-Aging Products.

“I’m taking medication, will that be okay?”

  • Most medication won’t interfere with body waxing at all, but you must be careful when FACE waxing. But some over-the-counter & prescribed meds/products do... certain anti-acne and anti-aging prescriptions, antibiotics as well as steroids will change the skins integrity making waxing not ideal for you. We can discuss this further one on one, and I will let you know all your options! Most medication won’t react negatively to the waxing. If stopped taken 1-2 weeks before your visit (if it can be stopped). Always consult with your doctor.

...After Waxing

“Is there anything I should do or avoid after I’m waxed?”

  • Don’t work out or go to a sauna for at least 24 hours after. Avoid the use of tanning beds or spray tans for 48 hours after. No swimming pools, hot tubs or direct sunlight for the next 2-3 days. No makeup on facial waxing area for the remainder of the day, and that goes for body lotions and potions on any body waxing areas too.

“What about any post care?"

  • Start

    exfoliating

the 3rd day after your wax, and do this at least every other day till we meet again. Use a vegan sugar scrub, or body exfoliating glove to avoid ingrown hairs/bumps. Do not use a salt scrub, salt will irritate freshly waxed skin and can jeopardize our intimate PH levels. Also if you’d like, use a light body oil or vegan body butter. This will give your skin the best glowing results, and flawless look. If you experience any irritation of the skin after your wax, apply Cortizone cream and avoid tight clothing. Please let me know if irritation continues for more than a few days (doesn’t happen often, but I will help you if it does).
